Introduction

This privacy statement provides information regarding processing by the Food and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian and Pacific Region (“FFTC”, “our” or “we”) of personal data of individuals (“you”) who register for an FFTC organized (or coorganized) event. The “event” includes any conference, webinar, forum, seminar, training course or workshop, whether taking place virtually or face to face.

What information does FFTC collect and why?

FFTC collects personal information necessary for the management of associations, conferences and events. The most common types of information that we collect may include names, email addresses, other contact information, gender, institution name, country of workplace, profession, survey responses, dietary requirements, etc.

The information is used to process your registration, manage transportation and/ or accommodation, organize meals with the appropriate supplies of food for various dietary requirements, communicate with you about this event, gain feedback, provide you certificate and event publications, and to inform you of future conferences.

How does FFTC collect personal information?

FFTC collects personal information directly when you provide it to us.
FFTC collects personal information when you register for an event, subscribe to a newsletter, visit our websites, submit feedback, fill out a survey form, or send us a message through various modes of communication.

To whom does FFTC disclose the information you provide when you register for an event?

By registering for a specific event, you agree that FFTC may disclose the personal data you submit as part of registration to:

Audio and Visual Recording; Live Streaming

Photographs and/or audio-visual footage may be taken and/or live-streamed during (part of) a FFTC event. Photos and videos can be published on FFTC websites and social media pages as well as on the co-organizer’s online platforms. Photos and videos may also be recorded and can be reproduced in various media including FFTC publications, social networks and press, in connection with a specific event, or for further institutional purposes as well as for promotional activities of FFTC. By attending a FFTC organized (or co-organized) event, you agree that you may appear in published photos and/or videos as stated above.

Storage of the personal information

When you register in an event using the registration form, your personal information will be collected to a Google Form in the FFTC Google Drive. Your personal data will be removed from the FFTC Google Drive, transferred to and stored at the FFTC-KM database which are run by secure servers that are managed by us and our service providers in Taiwan.

Personal information that we store or transmit is protected by access controls, such as username and passwords, access granted to only those with a need to know and encryption where possible.

Consent

Through agreeing to this privacy statement, you are consenting to FFTC processing your personal data for the purposes outlined. You can withdraw consent at any time by selecting “unsubscribe” to any emails that you receive from us.

Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or guarantee it will always be secure from unauthorized access.
